- Helping save Australian Wildlife -

2020 has been a year we’ll never forget and Australia's wildlife needs our help more urgently now than ever before - That is why here at Hippie Vibe Co we will donate as much as we humanly can to sanctuaries looking after and caring for our Wildlife.

The bushfires that tore through Australia during summer 2019/20 known as Black Summer is to be the most catastrophic bushfire season ever experienced in the country’s history. An estimated 19 million hectares was burnt, with 12.6 million hectares was primarily forest and bush land, 34 lives were lost and destroying over 5,900 building. An estimated 1 billion mammals, birds and reptiles have lost their lives and nearly 2 million animals were impacted by the catastrophic bush fires, experts fear in some endangered species may be driven to extinction.

Slow-moving native animals have been hit particularly hard.

Around 25,000 koalas are feared dead on Kangaroo Island, with a third of all the koalas in New South Wales over 8 thousand are believed to have perished with about 30 percent of the koalas habitat also wiped out. In the aftermath of the bushfires any animals that have survived the fires are now struggling to find food and water in the burnt down bushland with many animals injured and needing care.

Ecologists suggest it may take up to 100 years for the ecosystems the animals depend on to bounce back.
